[gradsusr] ll2xy function in batch mode

Hi GRADS peeps ... Anyone know a work around for this?
in my script I have the lines

'query ll2xy 'lon1' 'lat1
locs=sublin(result,1)
rloc=subwrd(locs,1)

If I have a GRADS window open and call my script it returns the correct xy
location corresponding to the lon and lat.

If I call the script in batch mode it simply returns the lon and lat that I
entered.

Any ideas anyone?
