[gradsusr] GrADS not plotting WRF output west of Prime Meridian

I suggest you convert the specific longitude values in your control file
that are in the western hemisphere to negative values (negative longitude
implies it's in degrees west). Then a command in grads like "set lon -44
30" should work. The error with your (1) is to be expected - Grads does
not want to see the first number greater (i.e., to the right on the real
number line) than the first number, even if it represents a legitimate
west-to-east longitude band.
To avoid the seg fault, try running this line-by-line (i.e., by typing the
commands by hand at the Grads command prompt instead of running a script).
It seems likely that some other line of your script (not related to the
current problem) is causing the seg fault.
