[gradsusr] How to read CMORPH data

Dear Bob,
Could you be more a specific about what type of program I should be using because I am new to this. I am trying to simple calculation such as
Regression analysis, Correlation, RMS
Also, I am trying to compute the annual, monthly, 10-daily, daily for a specific coordinate and plot.
I was working on matlab because I am familiar with it but now with CMORPH files I am not sure what use. I am kinda of beginner user. However, I am a fast learner if you could guide through the process or at least referring to me some website that would be great.
