You can try with these commands for concatenation.

cat 3B42.100501.03z.6.precipitation.bin 3B42.100501.06z.6.precipitation.bin
>output.bin

After this use the ctl file given here as a sample. This is one way.
Otherwise you have to write a fortran program to combine all the
daily files into yearly.
