Jennifer,

    I was thinking about the present where the grb.gs script can write 
out a grib2 from grads.
In the future, it would be nice to build a grib2 writer into grads.  I 
agree that metadata
is a problem.  The g2grb.gs script stores the metadata in the grib2 
template file.  The
user can configure the  center/subcenter/processid/etc by modifying the 
template
file by using wgrib2.
