Data from ECMWF ERA Interim Reanalysis

 Dear users,
I'm doing some analyses by using data from this source: ECMWF ERA Interim Reanalysis, provided by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast in grib format.
The resolution is 1,5 deg * 1,5 deg lat/lon and temporal resolution of 6h.

I need to know more things about the way in which ERA finds these data and processes is on them to supply them according to this grid. Some of you know if they are made according to the average space areas?
