Nomads GDS

Good Day all 

   Has anyone else been having problems with the nomads GDS server:
http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov:9090/dods/gfs_hd/
For the last few days I have been having problems accessing it with both grads 1.8 and 2.6 where I can see the file etc but when I actiually try to display something it freezes.
 I have contacted them but their helpdesk seems to think its fine.
 Other gds sites work.

Any Ideas
