2.0.a7.1 segmentation fault when opening a netcdf dataset: further info

The same problem on a debian/lenny (stable).
gcc versions are:
- lenny: 4.3.2
- sid: 4.3.4

libnetcdf4 versions is 1:3.6 for both.
