Loic,

Please find attached a GrADS script "regrid_pptn.gs" and a pdf file
"pptn.pdf"generated from it...
Here is a sample output from running the script :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ga-> regrid_pptn.gs
No hardcopy metafile open
All files closed; all defined objects released
All GrADS attributes have been reinitialized

the output grid is UNIFORM lat/lon:
dx =  5.00 deg and dy =  5.00 deg
# points in i(lon) =  72  # points j(lat) =  37
lon extent =    0.00 to  355.00 lat extend = -90.00 to  90.00
regrid method is: bilinear interpolation

FORTRAN STOP
Hardcopy output file is closed

ga-> q ctlinfo
dset /net/cjs/gpcp/pptn.87-96
title GPCP Precipitation Data (mm/day)
undef -999
xdef 144 linear -178.75 2.5
ydef 72 linear -88.75 2.5
zdef 1 linear 1000 1
tdef 120 linear 00Z01JAN1987 1mo
vars 1
pptn 1 99 precip rate (mm/d)
ga-> q dims
Default file number is: 1
X is varying   Lon = 0 to 360   X = 72.5 to 216.5
Y is varying   Lat = -90 to 90   Y = 0.499999 to 72.5
Z is fixed     Lev = 1000  Z = 1
T is fixed     Time = 00Z01DEC1996  T = 120
ga-> quit
No hardcopy metafile open
GX package terminated
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps,
Chuck
