grib data translation problem

Hello all,



I am looking for someone who can help with a problem I am having

with the software package PCGrads.



I am attempting to use the module 'gribscan' from the DOS command

line to decode the NAM model grib files as found on the NCEP

web server   ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/nam/prod



An example command:



c:\grads>gribscan -i nam.t00z.awip3d06.tm00 -o test



but gribscan exits immediately with a stack fault file

gribscan.exe.stackdump



Has anyone successfully used gribscan to decode these

NCEP files?  Do I need to specify certain command line options?
