[gradsusr] Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area grid

Hi,

I'm trying to use g2ctl on a grib2 file which has a Lambert Azimuthal Equal
Area grid. An error, "unknown grid", is returned.

Does anyone know if there is a way that g2ctl can create a ctl file from
this type of grid, or does it need converting to lat-lon? If the latter,
can it be done with wgrib2 and can anyone provide an example?
