Hello Yared!

Please multiply precipitation values by 86400.0.
Follows reason for multiplication by this factor.

You have to consider that:
- 1 kg of rain water spread over 1 square meter of surface is 1 mm in thickness;
- there are 60X60X24=86400 seconds in one day.
Therefore, 1 kg/m2/s = 86400 mm/day.

Hope this solves your problem.

With best regards

Subject: [gradsusr] about the amount of precipitation

Hi @ all
I have a gridded historical precipitation data which is downloaded from
http://climate-modelling.canada.ca/climatemodeldata/canrcm/CanRCM4/index.shtml
website, the file is  netcdf.
The problem is in the precipitation amount this means that, when I displayed in grads, the value is very small. For example 3.66841e-07, all-time series values are near to zero (0.000000.124) like this. Is there a conversion factor to this? Can anyone help me please?
Thanks in advance.
Yared
