[gradsusr] Opendap files with variables that begin with numbers

Hi,

I cannot open variables like the following one.  This is how ncdump 
lists it.

\2_metre_temperature_surface

If I do this in my control file it doesn't read the variable record

\2_metre_temperature_surface=>tmp2m 0 t,y,x var_description

If I do this the control file opens, but when I try to retrieve it I get 
an error.

2_metre_temperature_surface=>tmp2m 0 t,y,x var_description

ga-> d tmp2m
Error: Variable 2_metre_temperature_surface not in netcdf file
Data Request Error:  Error for variable 'tmp2m'
   Error ocurred at column 1
DISPLAY error:  Invalid expression
   Expression = tmp2m
