Hi all,

I’ve got a question regarding the MSL Pressure for GFS - I’ve noticed that when using the mfhilo function in Grads and PRMSLmsl, I get the following (using TC Gita 09p as an example here):

mfhilo CL method N: 2 maxmin: -1 radinf: 1000.0 [nm] cintinf: 300.0 latc: -18.00 lonc: 158.00
L -25.16 165.89 M: 980.665 D: 756.16

However when I use MSLETmsl it is far more accurate:

mfhilo CL method N: 3 maxmin: -1 radinf: 1000.0 [nm] cintinf: 300.0 latc: -18.00 lonc: 158.00
L -25.15 165.90 M: 954.212 D: 1020.26

My question is this: Is this expected behaviour from PRMSLmsl, because a few other models such as CMC for example do not include MSLetmsl and only PRMSLmsl and I want to display the lowest central pressures on low pressure systems.

Cheers, Mike
