[gradsusr] Problem using simultaneously maskout and set parea

The maskout() function should not cover up or erase any geographical
landmarks, even if you select a solid color for the undefined region.
What happens if you remove the 'set mpt' commands entirely and just use
'mpdset lowres' and 'set map' to control the appearance of map lines?
