[gradsusr] Station plotting using stnopts

I'm producing a surface analysis plotting station data across the CONUS.
Everything is working fine, up until the point I set the stnopts to plot
the 3 digit version of MSLP.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I'm using Open GrADS 2.1.a2.oga.1

code:
'set gxout model'
'set ccolor 23'
'set stnopts dig3'
'set cthick 1'
'set digsiz 0.055'
'd uuu.4;vvv.4;tmp.4;dpt.4;slp.4*10;-999;sky.4;-999;-999'

the script results in this error:
SET error: Invalid operand
  Operand = stnopts dig3

The end result is a station model with the full value of mslp.
