[gradsusr] Trouble using gribmap on grb2 data

Hi, Joseph —
It sounds like your build is not enabled to handle grib2. The libraries you need are:
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/zlib-1.2.8.tar.gz
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/libpng-1.5.12.tar.gz
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/jasper-1.900.1-14ubuntu3.2.debian.tar.gz
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/g2clib-1.6.0.tar.gz

Guidance for building these libraries is at http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/gadoc/supplibs.html. But if you use one of the pre-compiled binary releases from http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/downloads.php instead of trying to build from source your life will be much easier.

I am trying to use gribmap on ctl files that I was able to create with g2ctl. I am able to successfully create the ctl file, but when I run gribmap on the ctl file, I get this message:

Gribmap successfully works and I am able to open up regular grib1 files, but not for grb2 files. I have also download and built some of the libraries that may be needed such as jasper and zlib.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
