[gradsusr] how to read text file in grads and write it out?

The only possible thing I could think of is to use the ncgen command, part
of the nco software package. You'd have to use special syntax to get it
correct. Probably the best way to go is to use Fortran to write the text
data to a binary file, which doesn't require any special libraries. There
are help pages in the GrADS user's guide that provide instructions on this.
