[gradsusr] broken screen graphics

I am running the 2.1  branch of GrADS on Centos 7.  There seems to be some
sort of conflict because my graphics look like this:

If I printim, the image is rendered correctly.

GrADS has been installed twice with this same result.

Has anyone else experienced and fixed this?
