[gradsusr] GIS Caching in GrADS

Hi All,


I've been noticing a clear and distinct difference in processing time between using 'set mpdset hires' versus using outside GIS files to plot things like state lines, county lines, etc.


Is there a way to get GrADS to cache the GIS files when they are first loaded? I am "quit"ing at the end of each of my scripts so, maybe GrADS is having to re-open the GIS files every time a new script runs?


Any thoughts/insights?
