?Julio, thank you very much for your replying. By shifted, i mean that co (carbon monoxide) for example is not at the coordinates that i expect, but a bit westwards espesially at the north. I use ARWpost to make .ctl file and please find attached the namelist.ARWpost.I think that my problem is due to the fact that i use lambert conformal projection, but i don't know how to fix it.
Best regards,Konstantina

Hi Kontantina,
By shifted you mean that it changes the species of pollutants you are
trying to display? Can you describe the problem a bit more and the commands
you used?
I don't think I'll be able to solve you issue, but at least I'll try to
help you identifying it. Have you used ARWpost to generate the ctl file?
Perhaps there's something wrong in the namelist.ARWpost, since in ncview
you mentioned everything was ok. Send your namelist.ARWpost too if you can.
Kind regards,

Thanks for help. Now my .ctl file for reading 2 .grd files for 1st and 2nd JAN 2011 looks as follows:-DSET ?^something_201101%d2_something_something_something.grdOPTIONS templateTDEF 730 LINEAR 00:00Z01JAN2011 1dy
But opening this ctl file opens data only for 1st JAN and not for 2nd JAN. Time values are indicated by GrADS as follows:
Time values set: 2011:1:1:0 2011:1:1:0
I have set tnum = 730 as for one day tnum=365 was set in original .ctl file for a single day. Somebody please help me. I have even tried the CHSUB and %id2 options as well.P.S.: I am very new to GrADS

?
Use "options template" to read all data files with a single CTL file.

Hope, this helps.

Subject: [gradsusr] multiple ctl files for multiple .grd files
Dear GrADS users,I am Natansh Naidu from India and am very new to GrADS. I have one years's daily average satellite data in .grd (i.e. GRIB) format. alongwith the .grd files I got only one .ctl file, in which DSET name needs to be changed every time I need to open a different .grd file. Is there any way to write a script file in GrADS which can automatically write 365 .ctl files for me by automatically changing the DSET ?? I need a separate ctl file for each .grd file because I intend to convert them all into netcdf format.P.S.: the .grd files are named as: "something_yyyymmdd_something.grd"?
Please help me guysRegards,Natansh Naidu

Dear Jeff,?thank you for your replying. The file file_grads is image. I thing that?PDEF, XDEF, andYDEF are correct. My attached files are ncdump -h output and my .ctl file. Can you please help me to find a solution?

What is the format of the attached file file_grads? I don't know what
software to use to read it. Is it an image? Is it code?
Anyway, the most likely reason you're seeing a "shift" is because you have
mis-specified the PDEF, XDEF, or YDEF entries in your control file (I
presume you are using a control file rather than using sdfopen to read the
data in Grads). This is causing a projection error. You can use ncdump -h
and ncdump -v [VAR] to output the values of the projection parameters for
your LC projection (unique to your WRF domain) and use the grads user guide
section on writing control files to construct the correct PDEF, XDEF, and
YDEF entries.
