[gradsusr] ensemble average

Dear All

I am confused with the difference between ensemble mean and normal mean. e.g: I have 5 dataset a,b,c,d,e, so what is the difference of the ensemble mean versus the normal mean, like m=(a+b+c+d+e)/5?. I also wonder how to make the line plot with standard deviation of the ensemble mean versus the mean rate m?
I did some search over internet but still can't figure it out. I really appreciate your help.Kelly
