Here's the way you can retrieve the data for 3-hr interval
Lets assume you retrieve temperature (ts) variable and you open SRF file... ga->  fprintf ts ts.csv

This will create an output file called ts.csv obtained from retrieving the SRF file, since SRF file itself contains data at 3-hr interval i.e for one day we've 8 intervals (8*3-hr = 24-hr)
