[gradsusr] need information regarding grads operation

 Dear sir,

I have used grads 2.0.2 version in Ubuntu linux (versiob 12.04). I want to save an image output in netcdf format and i have used following codes

ga> sdfopen ppt3.nc
ga> q file
ga> set lat 0 40
ga> set lon 60 100
ga> set gxout shaded
ga> set grads off
ga> d tot_precip
ga> xcbar
ga> draw title precipitation over India
ga> draw xlabs longitude
ga> draw ylabs latitude
ga> set sdfwrite output.nc
ga> sdfwrite tot_precip


after putting this comment its show " variable not define"

and when i used the followinf comment to define:

 ga> define tot_precip = RF

then it shows " too long name, missing "=".

 I need help urgently
If you kindly help me  I will grateful to you.
