[gradsusr] installation error grads-1.9

Dear users,

I'm trying to install the older version 1.9 of GrADs 
on REDHAT-6  (64-bit machine). When I unzip the pre-compiled version 
(grads-1.9b4-linuxRH7.1.tar.gz) and tried to execute form the GrADs bin 
directory I get the following error:

> path/bin$ ./gradsnc


Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS) Version 1.9b4
Copyright (c) 1988-2005 by Brian Doty and IGES 
Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA)
Institute for Global Environment and Society (IGES)
GrADS comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY
See file COPYRIGHT for more information

Config: v1.9b4 32-bit little-endian readline sdf/xdf netcdf lats printim

Issue 'q config' command for more information.

Landscape mode? (no for portrait):  
GX Package Initialization: Size = 11 8.5 
Segmentation fault (core dumped)


Please suggest me the solution because I'm new to GrADs. It would be useful if you could guide with the installation steps including how to set the 
paths. Please note that my system is 64-bit machine.
