[gradsusr] writing grads output to a *.txt file

Hi,
I need to write grads output to a *.txt file or ascII format. For example I
want to write a 2-D plot. I tried:
set gxout fwrite
set fwrite filename
d plot
but it saves data in strange format (may be binary), and I can't open it
using excel, notepad application.


Can you please help?
