[gradsusr] average of two variables

Hi all,

I have to make an average of multiple time periods and I'm not sure on how to do this. Does anyone know how to?

This is what I'd like to do,

I have the monthly mean 2-m temperature from 19790101-20120101. Here I'd like to take the seasonal mean over dec, jan, feb, mar for the first ten years. Then compare it to the last ten years. It's easy to take the average for let's say the first winter,

define t1=ave(t2m, t=12, t=15, 1)

but how do I make an average if I define multiple variables just like the t1?
