[gradsusr] problem in Generating CTL file to Read GRB2 file in Grads

Have you downloaded Perl onto your PC?  It does not come as standard on
Windows machines. ActivePerl is a good package
(http://www.activestate.com/activeperl/downloads).

 

Running the .pl script does not depend on GrADS. 

 

You need to use Perl.exe to run grib2ctl.pl (a Perl script) which will
create a ctl file. You then need to use gribmap.exe (which should come
with your GrADS installation package) to create a map from the ctl to
the grib2 files. The file produced by gribmap will have an .idx
extension.

 

Once you have the ctl and idx files you can then open the ctl file in
GrADS to read the data in the grib2 files.

Dear All

 

Am new to work with GRB2 files in grads.

 

Have extracted a CFSR file for vwnd component and the format of the file
is in .grb2

 

To read this file have downloaded grib2ctl.pl file from the website and
when tried to open to 

 

in grads using command 

 

>GRIB2CTL.PL  -VERF FILENAME.GRB2>FILENAME.CTL

 

 after giving this command this is showing an error in the script file

 

Am using Grads 2.0.a7.oga.3 in windows operating system

 

 

Can anyboby help me in sorting out this problem
