[gradsusr] error message opening plotting on grads on pc machine

Try this...

export GADDIR=/usr/local/lib/grads
export GASCRP=/usr/local/lib/grads/scripts

assuming that this is the location of your GrADS fonts and scripts.

If you installed OpenGrADS for Windows correctly, GrADS is able to find the fonts. See http://opengrads.org/wiki/index.php?title=The_OpenGrADS_Bundle

If you are using the pure Cygwin version, then you will need the fonts and tables. See ftp://grads.iges.org/grads/data2.tar.gz and see http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/library.html for the script library.

If this information does not help, let us know your version and 'q config'.

dear all,

recently i installed grads on  a pc with win xp. as i was trying to plot the data (simple contour), got the error message that says

"Open Error on Map Data Set: /usr/local/lib/grads/lowres
Cannot contour grid - all undefined values
Error opening stroke character data set
Data set names = /usr/local/lib/grads/font0.dat ; font0.dat"

i remember dealing with this problem before: it has something to do with setting the right path for the map and font files, but i forgot how i went about it before =(

would someone please kindly instruct me? thank you very much ^_^
