Hello, everyone

I found this mismatch between what the grads doc says and its actual
behavior. The grads html doc presents that
"For the graphics output type stnmark, the size and style of the mark are
controled by set digsiz<http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdsetdigsiz.html>
and set cmark <http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdsetcmark.html>. To
turn off rainbow colorizing and use a single color instead, use set
ccolor<http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdsetccolor.html>
*color#*."
http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdsetgxout.html
<http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdsetgxout.html>But after 'set ccolor
1', the marks drew by grads were still rainbow colorized. Although i could
solve this problem by 'set rbcols 1', I think it's necessary to report this
issue.

I see that there is a blank space in the 'DSET' section of your .ctl
file.Maybe it's because of this.

Hi,
is it because your resolution is very high so that vectors got packed up
and became shaded?,
if so, you may need to use 'skip'.

eg:
d skip(u,10);v; mag(u,v)

Hi Users,

I have a file of points (station locations in lat, lon), bearing(the bearings
are such that North, East, South, West
indicate January,April,July and October respectively)and magnitude (the
magnitude here is the amplitude of rainfall annual cycle at each station).
I would like to make a plot where each station is depicted by an arrow and the
direction the arrow points is based on the value of bearing
while length of the arrow is based on the value of magnitude.

What I wish to achieve is a plot showing the amplitude of the annual cycle
at each station and its phase shown by a 12-month clock with i.e Northward arrow
indicating maximum rainfall January.

Any suggestions on how to do this with Grads.

?

Good morning,

I have Uwnd, Vwnd in separate files,  i want to
represent wind vectors, If they are in single file i can represent but it
is difficult  with separate files, so kindly provide information about the
command how can i represent the wind vectors with separate files.

Hai,

Try the following commands,

First open the two files, if it is netcdf use the following command,

sdfopen uwnd.nc
sdfopen vwnd.nc
..........................................
.........................................
If the variables are u and v,
.................................
................................
set gxout vector
set ccolor 1
set arrowhead -0.2
set arrscl 0.5 0.2
d skip(u.1,2,2);v.2
...................................
...................................

Hope this will work.
