This version of grads ships with a sample GRIB-1 file. Click on the
OpenGrADS icon on your desktop and at the ga-> prompt:

ga-> open model
ga-> d ps

If this display correctly it shows that (at least some) GRIB-1 files can be
displayed on your machine. If this is the case, you will need to investigate
what is particular about your tkdegrib converted files.
