display station map

Hi guys:
 I have  two files, both in GRADS format: one of the files contains  station
values and the other grads file contains a times series of a particular
variable....what I want to do is deploy both variables on a single graph,
but when I make: 'd var.1' and then 'd var.2' GRADS sent  to me a error
message like this:

"Invalid Operand
  'var.1' not a variable or function name
  Error ocurred at column 1"

Even when I set the time, for the time series file, the message occurs...Can
anyone help me?
