cnvgrib gribmaster and other issues with converting grib2 to 1

Hi all,
I am trying to use cnvgrib to convert grib2 to grib1 format.  I am having
several issues.

1) I tried compiling cnvgrib new version from
http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/codegs/GRIB2/, which gives me error.

I even tried moving to old libg2.a which doesn't work and gives segmentation
fault.

So I used gribmaster which is a executable that could be used for converting
grib2 to 1

2)But the problem is when i am executing it writes


"cnvgrib -g21 nam.t00z.awip3200.01.grib2 nam.t00z.awip3200.01.grib
 param_g2_to_g1:GRIB2 param            10            3            0  not
found.
 param_g2_to_g1:GRIB2 param             0            3          200  not
found.
FORTRAN STOP"

I could able to write control files and display it but I am wondering if I
use the grib1 format as a input into some model will it pose any problem.
Does any one have any idea what the error means ( any parameter not written
or misrepresented).

Would appreciate any help.
