Basemap error

Hi all,
Can someone help me on this,
------------------
ga-> set mpdset lowres
MPDSET file name = lowres
ga-> d hw 
ga-> basemap L
Error reading lpoly_lowres.asc
------------------------

I have set the GADDIR env. variable to the right path. Cannot figure out
where I am wrong.
 
any opinion?
