Thank you Todd,
"extrapolate" was the word i needed to use for search. Mark Sponsler
answered a similar question a year ago and suggested using something
like:
d const(waveheight, 0, -u)
to set null values to a constant... certainly not a scientific
soluiton, but it can be tweaked to make pretty pictures.
