AMS Short Course on Datasets for use in Climate Applications

Dear All,
The American Meteorological Society will be offering a 1-day short  
course on Sunday, January 17, 2010 as part of the Annual Meeting in  
Atlanta, GA. I will be teaching two segments: a GrADS tutorial, with a  
focus on its newest features, followed by a live demonstration of how  
to use GrADS to analyze remote data sets, including the forecast data  
from the THORPEX Interactive Grand Global Ensemble (TIGGE) project,  
which is behind a GDS at NCAR. The agenda also includes talks on  
accessing data resources at NCDC, NCEP, ESRL, and PCMDI, plus a review  
of satellite-derived data sets and the PRISM climate mapping system.
