yflip fwrite and regrid2

I've trying to flip the y-axis on the binary file. while using regrid2 to
get a finer grid. The binary file is written just fine, however the y-axis
is not flipped.

'set yflip on'
'set gxout frwite'
'set fwrite -le xxxxxxx'
'd regrid2(var,.25,.25,bs)
'disable fwrite'

It makes no difference where I put the 'set yflip on' it does not flip the
binary. 
Does the yflip command work with fwrite?
