Hi everybody,

I am trying to install the new Grads 2.0.a2 version on my computer
(Ubuntu 7.10 \n \l Linux 2.6.22-14-generic i686).
I compiled the supplibs - it created a new directory
i686-pc-linux-gnu ( bin etc include info lib man share)
include contains:
curl grib2c hdf5 jpeg libsx ncurses netcdf4 szlib X11
gd hdf jasper libpng libxml2 netcdf readline udunits zlib

I made:
export SUPPLIBS=/home/ml/UTL/supplibs-2.0.1/i686-pc-linux-gnu
and configured grads with the result:

  +----------------------------------+
  |
  | Configuration Summary
  |
  | + readline enabled
  | - printim disabled
  | + netcdf enabled |
  | + hdf4 enabled |
  | - grib2 disabled |
  | - GUI disabled |
  | |
  | Build Summary |
  | |
  | + grads enabled |
  | - gradsdap (OPeNDAP) disabled |
  | |
  | - Dynamic linking disabled |
  | |
  +----------------------------------+

next I tried to do 'make' in grads, but unfortunately with errors:

$ make

make[1]: Entering directory `/media/sda1/TMP00/UTL/grads-2.0.a2/src'
make all-am

gaio-c.o -c ./gaio.c
./gaio.c:30:19: error: mfhdf.h: No such file or directory
./gaio.c: In function ‘gahrow’:
.......

it looks that it cannot find files like mfhdf.h which have already been
checked by configure, I tried to copy the files to the include directory -
but the result was not very good - I created grads but without ncdf support
which is most important for me.

?? I have no idea what I do wrong ??
I would appreciate any good suggestion!!

Thanks
Malgorzata
