basemap.gs - State and Provincial Boundaries for Countries Outside of North America

Hello,

Has anyone created a new set of *.asc files for basemap.gs to add state
and provincial boundaries for countries outside of North America?  The
default files do not contain these political boundaries.  It appears new
polygons can be added to the *.asc files, but please let me know if
somebody has already done this.
