I haven't been able to get rxvt to work, though. If I type 'rxvt' at the

I have some info on rxvt here:

Here is a typical usage:
rxvt -sb -sl 2048 -bg white -fg blue -fn fixedsys -e gradsdods
or even
rxvt -sb -sl 2048 -bg white -fg blue -fn fixedsys -e tcsh
You need to let it know which program to execute on startup with the -e
option. See the Wiki link above for the tip about the Monaco font.
