Design own GrADS fonts.

Hi,
Did Anybody design own GrADS fonts?
There are just 5 fonts provided with the GrADS distribution. These fonts are not satisfactory for me, and especially the default font Helvetica is not standard.
The documentation about "font file format" roughly describes the format of font file and mentions a .c file "gxchpl.c" plotting these fonts actually. In the gxchpl.c, there is a note, "Plot character strings using the Hershey fonts". However, the format of font0.dat with GrADS distribution is different from these Hershey fonts (like the timesg.jhf in attachments) downloaded from http://emergent.unpythonic.net/software/hershey or other sites.
Are there anybody familiar with this font format?
Please help.
