using csmooth on and set mpvals

Hi GrADS users,

I would like to plot precipitation data using the csmooth command with a NPS
projection that completely fills the rectangle around the image.  To do this
I was planning on using 'set mpvals'.  However, when I set mpvals, grads
seems to ignore my "set csmooth on" command.  Is there anyway to get around
this, or another command I can use?
