contour plot with positive/negative values - how to set the line style for (negative) dashed values

Hi how can I change the line style for the negative
contours when using one color?  By default the
negative values show as dots, but they are not spaced
enough apart for my needs.  The positive and negative
contours look very close when the graphics is scaled
down.

here are the options I put:
'set ccolor 1'
'set gxout contour'
'set cthick 6'
