Help on calculating monthly climatology

Hello there,
I am calculating monthly precipitation climatology which involves a
month-dependent conversion. Specifically, the data is in mm/day and
what I want to get is accumulated precip in a month. Which means I
have to multiply day factors (i.e., # of days in a month, 31, 28, ...)
to get the monthly precipitation climatology. I just wonder whether
someone out there knows how to do it. Thanks.
