How to skip values in time series

Dear all,



I have a grads file with N times of a variable defined at a lat/lon grid.



I want to plot a line-plot of a time series of the variable at a fixed
geographical grid-point, for the whole period, but skipping every 4 time
instants. Say that N is 100 and I want a time series with only 25 times,
spanning the whole period (t=1, t=5, t=9....t=99).



I've tried 'skip' but it seems not to work for the time dimension.
