How to draw grid values?

Hello,
Is there any easy (short code) way in grads to draw grid values - other than
through 'set gxout grid'?
Are there any settings in grads related to 'set gxout grid'  - character size,
color scale, number format, density of the grid, apperance of grid box lines?
