displaying Station data in Grads

Dear All,
I am working on station data , and want it to display in GrAds. I have
run the code for converting station data in binary format and then
have made the .ctl file. But when I use the utility stnmap -i
filename.ctl I get the following error.

raj at linux> stnmap -i rain.ctl
Open Error:  Looking for ENDVARS statement
             Instead, found:
  --> The invalid description file record is:
  --> endvars

  The data file was not opened.
File name is:  rain.ctl
