plot subpages on map at lat lon

Bernd,
Make the contour plot, base map, and the histograms all together in one
Grads session (or script). Draw the map and contour plot first. Then
use 'draw recf' and 'draw rec' to draw the histograms on top of the
current plot.
I have used this method with no problem to draw colored and unfilled
boxes on the same frame, adjacent to grads plots. I have not tried
drawing on top, but my understanding is that it should work the same
way. HTH.
