Boundaries for Russia and its neighbourhood

Unfortunately we have not been able to update the
political map boundaries for some time, because we
have not found updated coordinates.

The map backgrounds are very simple -- each point is
a lat/lon coordinate.  The points are put in a specific
format for GrADS, and this format is documented.

If anyone can point us to a current data set with
lat/lon coordinates for the world's political
boundaries, we would be happy to put it in GrADS
format.  However, the data set *must* allow free
re-distribution; it cannot be a data set that is
part of a proprietary package (eg, a GIS package
or Matlab, IDL, etc)... Brian
