Averaging arbitrary cross sections

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to average the same arbitrary cross section (same lat/lon points)
using multiple control files. I've been able to plot cross sections using
the M. Fiorino code, but I'm having problems trying to average cases. I've
tried to define a variable this way:

define avgvel=coll2gr(1,-u)

but receive this message: Error from COLL2GR:  Invalid dimension environment
Operation Error:  Error from coll2gr function . Is there a way to do this ?
